Washington State

We got to our “base camp” around 2:30 this afternoon. The forests in the Pacific Northwest are certainly much different than in Colorado. It’s amazing what moisture will do for a forest. I believe the dominant tree is the Douglas Fir, and they are huge!  Lots of ferns and moss also. Very pretty. The Campground is an hour or so northeast of Mt. Saint Helens, so we can take a look, maybe tomorrow.
