Delivering Pipeline Safety Programs

I’ve been delivering pipeline safety programs for Paradigm Liaison Services for almost ten years now.  Starting part time while still a working Fire Captain with the Wichita Fire Department, I’ve delivered programs in 21 states from coast to coast.  

What drew me to this line of work, aside from a steady paycheck, was the opportunity to travel to places in this country that I would never have even considered, had I not been paid.  Places like Glendive Montana, Big Hill Texas and Coudersport Pennsylvania  are not high on anyone’s bucket list, but maybe they should be.

It is cliche, but true, that this country is full of small little gems that are hidden away.  You won’t find them by looking out the car window while traveling an Interstate highway. You have to get out of the car, walk through a city park and talk to some people. Of course this is easier said than done, but for the last fifty+ years we seem to be raising generations of sharks.  The mentality of “swim or die”, is ingrained in us so much that we lose sight of why we're swimming in the first place. Making a life for ourselves and our families is extremely important, but the quality of that life should factor into our decisions as well.
