Loyalsock Bikeway Loop

While I’m in Pennsylvania for the next two months, I thought I’d try as many walking trails as I could as I wind through the Keystone state. Trail number eight is the Loyalsock Bikeway Loop.

In downtown Williamsport, along both sides of the Susquehanna River, there is an excellent bike/running/walking path. According to the informative signs along the path, Williamsport was a huge logging town. the trees were logged in the mountains upstream and floated downstream to lumber mills in town. The paths are very nice asphalt with little to no change in grade, which makes for a very easy, low impact experience. All things considered, I’d take another Trolley Trail.
