We Got MF Goodies

I spent all day yesterday working my way through bags 1-5 on the Millennium Falcon, and I must say, it’s looking pretty good. I put together the engine room (complete with smuggling compartment), the “lounge” where C3PO played a contentious game of holo chess against Chewbacca, and the “nookie room” where Han and Leia noshed in “The Empire Strikes Back”. Just seeing these areas brings back incredible memories from my teenage years, but being able to actually lay hands on these things is incredible. While the scale and detail are not, and could not be, perfect, the imagery is powerful nonetheless.

Before taking a break today, I added the “engines” to the back of the model. They are a simple thing, made out of blue plastic tubes, but they add an emotional heft to this already amazing touchstone. Lego knocked it out of the park with this one!
